About the Author
Richard S. Ascough is Assistant Professor of New Testament at Queen's Theological College and Queen's University Department of Religious Studies, Kingston, Canada. He is the author of What Are They Saying about the Formation of Pauline Churches? (1998). Renita J. Weems is Associate Professor of Hebrew Bible at Vanderbilt Divinity School, Nashville, Tenn. She is the author of Battered Love: Marriage, Sex, and Violence in the Hebrew Prophets (Overtures to Biblical Theology; Fortress Press, 1995), I Asked for Intimacy (1993), and Just a Sister Away (1988). John Stendahl is an ELCA pastor in Newton, Mass. Samuel E. Balentine is Professor of Old Testament at Baptist Theological Seminary, Richmond, Va. He has written two volumes in the Fortress Press series Overtures to Biblical Theology: The Torah's Vision of Worship (1999) and Prayer in the Hebrew Bible (1993).
