The New Sons of Liberty

Explore the slippery slope from ultra-patriotism to terrorism. The hair-raising sequel to SEVERED TREATY picks up ten years later in the year 2018. The western third of Colorado is a large new Indian reservation, designated by congress after historical documents prove the Indian’s case. Professor Wes Powell and Chief Silver Whitehorse must defend the fledgling nation within a nation from a groundswell of ultra-patriotic resistance, THE NEW SONS OF LIBERTY. Greedy western business interests enlist a mercenary, “Colonel” Travis Key, to crumble the reservation by assassination and terrorist bombings. A high-society horseback trip becomes a cat and mouse chase in the Colorado wilderness. It’s a modern day True Grit story of cowboys versus Indians. There’s no way to avoid a showdown in the ghost town of Ashcroft, (just south of Aspen) pitting bows and brains against automatic rifles and brawn.
