She sent this same collection to a family friend, who happened to be the publisher John Murray.The work is aimed towards middle class housewives, and sold half a million copies within Rundell's lifetime. 'Domestic Cookery' contains possibly the first recipe for tomato sauce, and the first print recipe for Scotch eggs.In the original cloth. In the original cloth. Externally smart, with a slight lean, minor marks and light cockling to the boards, and a small closed tear to the head of the front joint. Front free endpaper tender, with the odd tidemark to the endpapers. Front hinge starting. Internally generally firmly bound with frontis-pp.xiv tender, with age toned pages and occasional light spotting, slightly heavier to the front and rear. Owner's ink inscription to the half title. Good.
