Book is pretty ratty but appears to still have all 342 pages. The atlas is missing. The authors start by describing the physical characteristics of an area but then spend much more time on describing their economy, their religion, and so forth. Fascinating look at an American clergyman's view of the world from the early 1800's. Jedidah Morse was considered the "father of American geography" and was the father of Samuel Morse, a major American painter and the inventor of the telegraph.
