About the Author

Everett Ferguson earned B.A. and M.A. degrees from Abilene Christian University and S.T.B. and Ph.D. degrees from Harvard University. After three years as Dean of Northeastern Christian Junior College, he began teaching in 1962 at Abilene Christian University, where he is now Distinguished Scholar in Residence. His books include The Church of Christ: A Biblical Ecclesiology for Today, which has been translated into Korean and Russian, Women in the Church, Inheriting Wisdom: Readings for Today from Ancient Christian Writers, and Church History, volume 1:From Christ to Pre-Reformation. He edited the Living Word Commentary on the New Testament, Restoration Quarterly (1987-1993), and the Encyclopedia of Early Christianity.
