Tight bindings, solid green boards with elaborate black decoration to fronts and very slight wear to corners and spine ends, bright gilt lettering to spine strip, brown end papers, light foxing early and late not affecting legibility, penciled gift inscription to early blank pages: "For Bessie V. Smith from her brother Harry B. Smith" otherwise clean and unmarked.
