With a prefatory bibliographical note by Walter Jerrold. Number 465 in Everyman's Library "Fiction" series, edited by Ernest Rhys. --- In 'flatback' binding style 1, full ribbed carmine cloth-covered boards with elaborate Reginald Knowles-designed gilt spine titling & decorations, blindstamped J. M. Dent vignette to front cover, brown topstain and fancy Knowles woodcut art at title page, endpapers & frontis. Volume lacks the dust jacket. --- With discreet Boston bookseller label to front free endpaper, else a tightly-bound, well-preserved copy lacking markings or significant damages.; 16mo - 6 to 7 in. tall; xvi, 421 pages.
