4to. Second edition. First published by Eyre & Spottiswoode. Original illustrated paper boards. Printed by W. S. Cowell, Ltd. 46 illustrations by Edward Ardizzone, including 21 watercolours and 25 pen drawings. Bookplate of Andrew Murray on the flyleaf. Unclipped d/w a little rubbed along the top edge, with a very short closed tear to the top corner of the front panel and ten ink date stamps to the bottom of the back panel, '10 DEC 1960'. Fine in near fine d/w. Redrawn, and with some additional illustrations, to match the postwar 'Tim' books.
