Stefan works street corners around town giving strangers the gift of their Time of Death. Soon, his talent becomes famous and Stefan is known around the world as Tod, The Death Psychic. But surrounded by innumerable fans, Stefan's social anxiety becomes crippling. When a detective names him as the prime suspect in a missing persons investigation, he flees the spotlight causing riots to erupt across the globe. And the one person he has always relied on—Mona, the beautiful and captivating woman he met on her own corner—has disappeared.

Groomed by her mother from a young age to service men, Desdamona was forced to choose between the first man who captured her heart or saving her best friend from life working the streets. Years later, she fights to free as many as she can from the fate she suffered as a child. When a dangerous hooded figure has his sights set out to destroy all her efforts, Desdamona must rely on the one person she’s afraid to get close to or watch as everything she’s built is set aflame.

A Nickel and A Trinket explores humanity's strange magnetism with death, the struggle to outgrow the shadows of the past, and the magic that brings together a patchwork of people to form a family.
