Nigel's vocation follows a young monk-in-training torn between faith, family duty, and love.
A novice at Lew Abbey faces the strict discipline of monastic life as he weighs vows against the pull of kin and estate. As secrets from the past surface, the story probes loyalty, temptation, and what it means to do one’s duty under pressure.
The tension deepens through a web of relatives, guardians, and friends, drawing the reader into a world of old wealth, religious devotion, and personal choice. Set against a vividly drawn countryside, the narrative tracks how a single life can collide with family plans, social expectations, and the search for meaning.- A young man weighs priestly vows against family obligations and personal desires
- Ancestral estates, executors, and wills complicate his path
- Encounters with relatives, friends, and a welcoming if imperfect community
- Themes of duty, faith, love, and the longing for a clear path

For this reason, we kindly ask that you double-check the title, edition, and your shipping details before placing an order.
If you change your mind after ordering, you are welcome to return the book once it arrives, and a refund will be issued in accordance with AbeBooks’ return policy.

If the book is damaged or defective please continue with the return process, and thank you for letting us know so that we can improve our products.
