The Night the Library Stayed Open

The Night the Library Stayed Open is a heartwarming story about people coming together during a snowstorm. When the power goes out, Miss Jo keeps the library open for anyone who needs safety. Soon, the library fills with community members who share stories, drawings, music, and support.

Each character shows a different kind of literacy: digital skills, reading pictures, music, emotional understanding, and creativity. Together, they discover that everyone has strengths, and everyone is learning.

Written in clear, plain language (Adult Skills Level 1-2), this book is welcoming for adult literacy learners, ESL readers, and adults reading with children. It is designed to build confidence, spark conversation, and celebrate the many ways we learn.

All proceeds from this book go directly to community literacy programs. Every purchase supports adults and families on their learning journeys and helps spread awareness about adult literacy needs, even in economically advanced countries like Canada.
