:: On the evening of August 23, 1917, approximately one hundred soldier of the all-black Third Battalion, Twenty-Fourth Infantry, stationed near Camp Logan on the outskirts of Houston, seized rifles and ammunition and marched on the city to avenge the beating of a noncommissioned officer by a white policeman. :: Bound in publisher's deep-gray cloth, author and title lettered in red upon black blocking down spine, publisher's emblem appears in black below. Octavo (9 1/4 x 6 1/4 inches; 235 x 159 millimeters). 338 pages. Grade: Very Good, in a Very Good dust jacket. Edges of pages 301-306 and rear endpaper trimmed a touch rough- small manufacturing flaw. Otherwise quite nice. Dust jacket exhibits overall wear, particularly along edges and at hinges. Price-clipped.
