About the Author
Rabbi Stuart Kelman, PhD, is the Dean of the Gamliel Institute. He is the founding rabbi of Netivot Shalom, a Conservative congregation in Berkeley, CA. He is a graduate of the Jewish Theological Seminary and has spent the majority of his career in the field of Jewish Education.
Dan Fendel did volunteer grief support work for the Shanti Project and Namaste in the San Francisco area for 20 years, and is now a Spiritual Care Volunteer at Kaiser Hospital in Oakland. He helped establish the Chevrah Kadisha at Temple Sinai, a Reform congregation in Oakland, is co-founder of the East Bay Chevrah Kadisha Consortium, and is Dean of Students for the Gamliel Institute.
Rabbi Jason Weiner, BCC, is senior rabbi and manager of the Spiritual Care Department at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He earned his rabbinic ordination in 2006 at Yeshivat Chovevei Torah Rabbinical School in New Your City, as well as ordination from Rav Zalman Nechemia Goldberg in Jerusalem. He is the author of Guide to Traditional Jewish Observance in a Hospital.
