Niki Unleashed (Paperback or Softback)

A rushed assignment, an untested boss, and a cover she's never worn — each one a shove toward the grave.

Every one of Niki's cells screams DO NOT DO IT.

Going undercover to infiltrate Greenwar — eco-terrorists executing retired executives of America's biggest polluters — is a rotten, reckless bet. But refusing means losing her only path back to the militia takedown she swore to finish.

The only way in closes in days, forcing her to adopt a paper-thin persona a single question could burn. Dodging the surveillance team her vengeful ex-boss has sicced on her bleeds the time and focus her life depends on.

Worse, two countdowns are approaching zero: the next executive's murder, and a federal raid that will blow her cover and leave her trapped with suspected killers.

Will Niki stop the killings and keep her cover intact or lose her chance to finish what she started?

James M. Jackson writes the Niki Undercover trilogy and the long-running Seamus McCree series—eight novels and two novellas about a forensic-finance sleuth who follows the money into the places it doesn't want to be followed.

Jim came to fiction after thirty years as an actuary, work that taught him how systems are built, how incentives bend people, and how the math of a human life can be made to favor whoever's holding the pencil. Those are Niki's problems too. She's a woman the system trained and then turned on—and the question driving these books isn't whether she can run the tradecraft, but what's left of her after she does.

He writes from the deep woods of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, nearer to wolves than to bankers.
