You invested in one of the finest cameras ever engineered—a true Hybrid Beast that redefined the line between high-resolution studio work and high-speed action photography. But the D850's power is buried deep in its menus.
The user manual tells you what the buttons do. This book shows you how to use them to create impossible images.
Mastering the Nikon D850 is the professional's guide to unlocking the full 45.7-megapixel potential of your camera, transforming it from a complex tool into a seamless extension of your artistic vision.
Inside the Guide: Unlock the D850's Secret Weaponry
This comprehensive, step-by-step masterclass strips away the complexity and delivers tactical, actionable workflows that professionals rely on:
I. The Precision Overhaul: Kill the Blur
Learn to conquer the D850's extreme resolution, which ruthlessly exposes every flaw in technique:
- The Stability Rule: Why the old Reciprocal Rule is dead on the 45.7MP sensor, and the minimum shutter speeds you must use to guarantee sharpness.
- Shutter Shock Elimination: Master the EFCS (Electronic Front-Curtain Shutter) protocol to use the silent electronic shutter and eliminate camera shake at critical speeds.
- AF Fine-Tune: Use the automated calibration process to correct manufacturing tolerances and ensure razor-sharp focus with all your lenses.
Leverage the phenomenal 14.8-stop latitude of the BSI sensor:
- The ISO 64 Protocol: Exploit the native base ISO to expose for highlights and recover 5 stops of shadow detail with zero noise.
- "God Mode" Exposed: Learn the powerful Manual Mode + Auto ISO technique that locks your creative settings (Aperture/Shutter) while the camera perfectly handles exposure (ISO).
- Protect the Whites: Master the Highlight-Weighted Metering mode—the D850’s hidden tool for saving bridal gowns, skies, and stage lights from clipping.
Unlock the features that set the D850 apart from every other camera:
- Focus Stacking: Learn the Focus Shift Shooting protocol to achieve infinite depth of field in macro and landscape shots, bypassing the softening effects of diffraction.
- The Time Machine: Master Exposure Smoothing to create seamless, flicker-free "Holy Grail" day-to-night time-lapses.
- Film Resurrection: Utilize the Negative Digitizer to create 45MP archival scans of your old 35mm film collection in minutes.
The D850 is a powerhouse. You are its conductor. This book provides the full score.
From configuring Back-Button Focus to setting up Custom Banks for instant switching between Landscape and Sports setups, this is the definitive roadmap to mastering the last great DSLR.
Unlock the full potential of your D850 today.

Store description
**Please note our transit times are from the date of dispatch.** We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first purchase with us, or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
