Green cloth covers with title and publisher's device stamped on front cover. Plaid end pages and paste-downs. The book is in fair to good condition - the covers are worn and stained and the page edges are a bit soiled and stained, as well. The binding is tight. All-in-all, a decent copy. ; The author's first book, originally published in 1877 anonymously. This is a later printing, published the following year attributed to him and with "Author of "Triton'" under his name on the title page. At the end of the book is a ten-page catalog of books published by Lockwood Brooks in their "Wayside" series. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 494 +[10] pages.
