Nitrogen Management for Potato Crop

Nitrogen is a macro-nutrient, essentially required for plant growth. It is actually part and parcel of certain macromolecules like protein. So it is required by the potato plant in substantial amount. In this way a managed supply of nitrogen fertilizers is a great strategy for obtaining economic yield of potato crop. On the other hand potato is an important crop of Pakistan and world as well. In some areas of Europe it is staple food.

Author is currently paying duties as Assistant Professor in the Institute of Horticultural Sciences, University of Agriculture Faisalabad.
