About the Author: Thomas Ragland, known in various internet discussion groups as Gnostic Tom, is a native of Tennessee with a Southern Baptist background. "Gnostic" is from the Greek word "gnosis", which for Thomas means to know through direct experience. Direct spiritual experiences have been more important to Thomas than faith or beliefs. From an early age, a sense of resonance with Jesus was felt. From this foundation of Bible study, Thomas ventured into exploring the various spiritual traditions in a comparative study. His first published book is "The Noble Eightfold Path of Christ: Jesus Teaches the Dharma of Buddhism", which explores the similarities between the teachings of Jesus and Siddhartha Gotama.
