Percy Noble was born in 1874 and interviewed many "old timers" in the process of writing these memoirsn in the 1940's. They were here published here for the first time. They describe the author's recollections of the lumber boom days in northwest Michigan in the Chain of Lakes area and Elk Rapids on Lake Michigan. Original graygilt cloth publisher's covers with gilt spine lettering. This is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings, no previous owner names and no bookplates. The dust jacket has a short tear and crease to the bottom edge of the front and rear panels, else it is in decent condition. ; B&W Photographs; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 207 pages.

We ship every business day via US Mail or equivalent with Tracking. You may return your item within 7 days with prior notice if not as described. Book plates, previous owners' names, remainder marks, price clipped dust jackets, and minor cover and dust jacket flaws are NOT ALWAYS NOTED -- PLEASE INQUIRE if this is important to you! We are happy to answer your questions! Every effort is made to accurately describe and price each book, however errors occur occasionally and we reserve the right to correct any mistakes made in cataloging our books. Shipping via USPS Media Mail (the least expensive shipping) do not include insurance and are sent at buyer's risk! USPS Ground Advantage does include $100 insurance, but costs a little more. All items listed are subject to prior sale. Institutions may be billed--please inquire.
Shipping terms
We strive to ship all orders within 2 business days. Shipping costs are based on 8vo size books (about 8"x5") weighing 2.0 pounds. If your book order contains more than one volume or is heavy or oversized, we may contact you to let you know if extra shipping is required. While most Media Mail shipments has proven to be reliable in the continental USA and usually arrives in a timely fashion--in some cases media mail can take 2-3 weeks for delivery--sometimes longer. All of our shipments come with tracking numbers.
**Standard Shipping ** in the USA is via USPS Media Mail or equivalent: $6.30 for the first book & $3.25 each additional book. We will contact you if your parcel requires additional postage.
Priority Shipping in the USA is via USPS Priority Mail or by UPS: $12.95 for the first book if your book will fit in a Flat Rate Mailer, and $20.50 for each additional book (Heavy & oversize parcel charges may apply and we will contact you if additional postage is required).
International Shipping is via USPS Priority Mail or by UPS International: rates start at $42.00 via a Priority Flat Rate Envelope, depending on the destination. If your book will not fit in a flat rate envelope, rates will be higher. Posted international rates are subject to change based on destination and weight--we will contact you if your parcel requires additional postage.
