It can be so difficult to move to a new home, or to say goodbye to friends and family.

Whether you're moving to a new country, a new culture, a new school or even just a new neighborhood, starting over, making new friends and having to say goodbye is tough for everyone, especially kids.

Even though we have great communication methods nowadays, and can have video chats or phone calls daily, sometimes the little things help, too; like knowing that no matter where we are in the world, in this vast global society, we all see the same moon.

Beanie lives far away from her grandmother, Nonni. But they realize that even though the moon is coming up for Nonni when Beanie is just waking up, they still get to see each other's moon. And seeing the moon every night, whether it's full, just a quarter, or even hidden behind clouds, gives them one strong connection that ties their hearts together.

Nonni's Moon has become a bedtime favorite for military families dealing with deployments, separated or divorced parents, grandparents living far away, and anyone wanting to stay connected to loved ones wherever they are.

It was the Readers' Favorite 2018 GOLD medal for children's books for grades K-3 and makes a lovely addition to classrooms, elementary libraries and your own home - wherever it is.

Julia is a mother of three (for a while three-under-three) who provide her with daily inspirations and just a few frustrations. She's traveled the world and has lived in five different countries with Egypt as one of her favorites. Julia is eternally grateful to her supportive husband and the cats who share her desk space. She has authored ten children's books and can't see stopping anytime soon and admits that she often writes and edits while sitting in a minivan.
