Add to basketA fascinating Macmillan War Pamphlet written by E. M. Forster as propaganda to increase morale during the Second World War. This work was released as a piece of propaganda for Macmillan Publishers, and explores the effect of war and Forster's opinions on the matter, opening with the lines, 'This pamphlet is propaganda. I believe that if the Nazis won they would destroy our civilisation. I want to say why I think this. I want to persuade others to think as I do.'Written by E. M. Forster (1879-1970) an English essayist and writer whose most important novels include 'A Room with a View' and 'A Passage to India'. During the 1930s and 1940s, he was a broadcaster on BBC Radio. He received sixteen nominations for the Nobel Prize in Literature. An intriguing piece of British history, written by an important British writer. In the original paper wraps. Externally generally smart, with some discolouration to the edges. Prior owner's inscription to the front wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are a touch spotted. Very Good Indeed.
