About the Author:

Dan Berger has been writing about wine since 1976. He was the wine columnist and reporter for The Los Angeles Times for eight years and continues to write articles for a number of publications, including Decanter and Wines & Vines magazine, where he received the "Wine Writer of the Year" award. His books include Beyond the Grapes: An Inside Look at Napa Valley and he contributed to the Oxford Companion to the Wines of North America. Dan and his wife publish a private weekly newsletter, "Dan Berger's Vintage Experience." He has resided in Sonoma County since 1986.

Tony Aspler, who has been writing about wine for more than 30 years, was formerly the wine columnist for the Toronto Star. He has authored 14 books on wine and food, including The Wine Lover's Companion, Travels with My Corkscrew, and The Wine Atlas of Canada. Aspler is an accomplished wine educator and lecturer and currently writes for a number of international wine magazines, including Wine Spectator.
