Synopsis:
The children saved their money to buy an elephant for the zoo. Nosey came by boat from Thailand. When she arrived, she led a parade down Main Street but when it was time to board the truck for the ride to the zoo, she refused. So the people all walked with her two miles and were rewarded by a spray of water from Nosey. A long love affair ensued.
About the Author: Jean Chaffee is a retired teacher who was married to the Fresno Zoo Director. She spent 5 years researching the zoo's history. The result is a series of beautifully illustrated children's books, proving that truth is more fascinating than fiction.
