About the Author: Joy May I love food, always have. When I was about six, I started to learn how to cook. By the time I was 12, my sister and I could cook Sunday lunch. I love this heritage and I like nothing better than having a house full of people to feed. I wrote this book when Ben, my beloved eldest, left home for uni. I had no success in teaching him to cook. My final hope was that the harsh realities of a uni kitchen would be the kick-start that he needed. However, on sight of his pasty face as he returned from the first semester, I knew more proactive measures were in order. That's why I wrote this book.
