sm4to, 4to. 25cm, 275p., over 130 full-page illustrations, author's biographies, index of authors, full beige linen, a fine copy in fine jacket (gar). ~ "One hundred and thirty medical books from the collection of J.K. Lilly are described in this volume; each one, when it was new, made some striking contribution to the increase of knowledge or the advance of medical care." (Introduction). Canadian contributions include: Sir William Osler "The Principles and Practice of Medicine (1892) and J.J.R. McLeod & F.G. Banting "The Antidiabetic Functions of the Pancreas.and Insulin. (1923). The excellent plate illustrations occupy one-half of the book, most taken directly from the book described.
