About this Item
The family Enidae from Iran are revised, presenting all data available to the authors. The main proportion of specimens originate from the collection of the late French diplomat, archaeologist and scientist, Jacques de Morgan. Currently, 43 (sub)species of Enidae are known from Iran. All taxa are described and illustrated. The following 17 species are described as new to science: Geminula dolmenensis n. sp., Geminula pyramidata n. sp., Geminula urmiensis n. sp., Iranopsis (Iranopsis) granulata n. sp., Pseudochondrula arsaci n. sp., Pseudochondrula bondouxi n. sp., Pseudochondrula darii n. sp., Pseudochondrula orientalis n. sp., Pseudonapaeus alborsicus n. sp., Pseudonapaeus demorgani n. sp., Pseudonapaeus fusiformis n. sp., Pseudonapaeus ignoratus n. sp., Pseudonapaeus kermanensis n. sp., Pseudonapaeus menkhorsti n. sp., Pseudonapaeus minutus n. sp., Pseudonapaeus orculoides n. sp. and Turanena pseudobscura n. sp. The generic name Mordania Bank & Neubert, 1998 (preoccupied by Mordania Dworakowska, 1979) is herewith emended to Mordaniella, and is considered a subgenus of Iranopsis. 84 pp. incl. 24 pls, 27 figs and distribution maps, br. 4.
