Staple bound printed wraps 17 x 23cm. (1) + 8 + (3)pp. Wraps good with small chip to front at top right, tears at staples, and previous owner's name faintly penciled. Interiors loose of their covers, otherwise, near fine and tanned. Dated September 1939, these notes were issued to complement the Manual of Military Law, for British forces in Egypt and Palestine at the start of WW2. They present the powers of a commanding officer for soldiers below NCO status and for Field General Court Martial, with Appendices stating the procedure for oaths and declarations (Christians upon the New Testament, Jews the Old, and a Mohammedan on the Koran), and communication to an accused person upon whom sentence of death has been passed, and a note on Civilian Employers and Followers which includes the treatment of Egyptians. Very rare - just one other copy traced (Ditsong National Museum of Military History Library, OCLC 86015108), no entries on Copac. Seller Inventory # 3680
