Study of actual infantry operations in World War I issued to U.S. Army officers. Included is formation for a battalion for the attack at the Battle of Arras. Tan wraps with black title. Moderately edgeworn and soiled with discoloration to upper inside corner of front wrap. Binding firm. Contents clean and lightly toned with black and white illustrations. Black and white fold-out map affixed on outside of rear wrap. Edge tear to map at head of spine; damage to upper portion of map due to crinkling. Previous owner's name written on upper edge of front wrap: "Lieut. Howard Conklein (?) B/167".
