Synopsis:

Notes From the New Chitlin Circuit is taking contemporary poetry to new extremes. It attacks the political and social structures of American society, while embracing the longevity of the African-American culture. Included are poems that pay homage to past greats such as Malcolm X & Thelonius Monk, to present day heroes such as Muhammad Ali & Haki Madhabuti. He also infuses musical traditons of jazz and blues into his literary trends.

About the Author: Kwasi Ramsey, a Baltimore native and winner of the CLA Margaret Walker award and the Red Sparrow Poetry award. He is currently a graduate student pursuing a Masters in Fine Arts and is working on his next collection.
