One of 40 copies privately printed by James Beale for W.H. Lambert. The Compliments of William H. Lambert card tipped in at front flyleaf, and William H. Lambert's The Critic (January 3, 1891) review on Thackeray's The Yellowplush Correspondence laid in. Quarto (31cm); parchment spine over tan paper-covered boards, with titling stamped in black on spine; 29pp; illus. Tissue guards between each page, with text and decorations printed on one side of leaf. Spine-tanned, with foxing, 1" tear to spine panel, 1" chips to spine ends, surface scratches, and rubbing with peeling to board edges; Good. Text includes account of the October 1855 dinner and Hodder's notes from Memories of My Time, and concludes with MacReady's letter from John W. Francis. [84994].
