Spine and back are not original, but the front is. Beige paper wrappers. 5 3/4" x 9." Pages [5] 6-29, [3] 4-83, complete. One black-and-white frontispiece map showing the Bay Area and surrounding parts in California, complete. Former owner's signatures in black ink on front cover and title page in top margins, not affecting text. Pages are very clean and intact except for slight age toning, minimal wear to extremities, and the occasional mark or smudge. Front cover is clean and intact overall but is darkened and has some smudging New spine and back cover are made of light purple paper, most of which has been sunned to a beige color. A Good copy. A compilation of two reports by John C. Fremont (1813-1890) and William H. Emory (1811-1887). The pamphlet begins with Fremont's writings, then continues with Emory's narrative. Fremont was an American explorer, politician, and the first Republican presidential nominee. Emory was an American surveyor and civil engineer who worked for the United States Army Corp of Topographical Engineers.…
