76 pp. Contains the first publication of Neal Cassady's "The First Third", one of the inspirations for On the Road. Long thought to have been lost, this portion was likely copied by Kerouac, who would pass on Cassady's stream of conciousness letters to Allen Ginsberg and others. Kerouac's response letter to Cassady is also printed. Fruther contributions from Kirby Doyle, John Rechy, Ron Boise, Alan Watts, Kenneth Patchen, Charles Bukowski (Bryan was the first to publish Buk), Lenore Kandel, David Meltzer, Bob Kaufman, Grover Lewis, Anselm Hollo.
