A quiet, watchful journal of place, weather, and memory at Underledge.
This edition gathers scenes from a settler’s view of Tunxis, a village and its surrounding hills, where trees, rivers, and storms become a language for life and wonder.
From the ledge and valley to the village streets, the book traces how landscape shapes thought. It blends detailed natural description with personal reflection, inviting the reader to notice how light, sound, and season color everyday experience.
- Vivid, ground-level depictions of forests, rivers, and cliff edges.
- Observations on perception — how the eye works, how weather moves, and how memory blooms.
- Explorations of weather, including a dramatic storm and its aftermath.
- Interludes that record guests, names, and small moments of life along the way.
Ideal for readers who enjoy reflective nature writing, place-based memoir, and meditations on sight and time.

Store description
