Notions on Emotions: Re-Viewing Their Nature and Function

Notions on Emotions offers professionals and non-specialists alike a radically new and innovative understanding of emotions.

Most of us, including experts, are not clear what emotions are and why we have them. As part of deciphering this enigma, L. Hade presents a novel theory of emotions: their nature, function, and place in our conceptual universe. It reanalyzes their special characteristics and explores what differentiates them from non-emotional phenomena. Accordingly, it presents an alternative understanding of how emotions relate to concepts such as cognition, rationality, relationships, self, values, and objectivity.

This provocative and sometimes controversial scientific work is a "must read" for psychologists, philosophers, AI experts, environmentalists, political thinkers, artists and anyone who ponders the eternal questions of emotions: Why did emotions develop? What advantages do they offer? How do emotions interact with cognition and rationality? Why do emotions affect us so strongly? Can emotions be altered? Can emotions be attributed to animals or added to machines?

L. Hade is a PhD member of a psychological and philosophical think tank which focuses on multidisciplinary topics in the fields of philosophy, psychology, and political science. For more information and comments please write to luhadehi@gmail.com
