Lean is a demanding concept, yet, there is no effective training model established to allow the companies to train their workers appropriately thus to implement Lean successfully. Original contributions to the knowledge of this thesis are the developed training model (WOTMLM) which aids the manufacturing companies in implementing Lean Manufacturing successfully and the expert mathematical system which supports to organise a low cost training programme. About the Author

M.Ichimura's research interests are in the areas of Lean Manufacturing, international management and management of technology. S.Arunachalam is a very active researcher and has published more than 200 articles in high profile journals and peer-viewed conferences. T.Page teaches Electronics at the Design School at Loughborough University UK.
