The Novice of Thanatos (Absolution of the Morning Star)

The dead do not rest. They whisper. They hunger. They remember.

I was eleven when I first heard the dead. My grandfather’s voice drifted from the shadows, his hand—cold but familiar—brushed my cheek. It should have been impossible.

The Order of Thanatos called it a gift. They took me in, trained me in their sacred rites, and taught me how to lead souls beyond the threshold. They told me we were shepherds, guiding the dead to their final peace.

They lied.

There is nothing sacred about what we do. The Order does not serve the dead. They consume them. And the deeper I descend into their secrets, the more I realize the truth is far darker than I ever imagined.

But I am not like the others. I will not be silent. I will not be blind.

I will uncover what lies beyond the threshold—even if it means becoming a ghost myself. Join me on my journey.

The Novice of Thanatos is a chilling dark fantasy for fans of grim worlds, ancient mysteries, and supernatural horror.
