He also provides consultation on the development, implementation, evaluation, and compliance of Title I programs funded under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965. He has presented professional development seminars at national, regional, and state education conferences hosted by organizations including ASCD, the College Board, Learning Forward, the New Teacher Center, the Association for Middle Level Educators, and the Southern Regional Education Board. Erik has also been a featured speaker at K–12 education conferences that address topics such as gifted education, charter schools, Title I, English language learners, dropout prevention, and social work. He works closely with K–12 schools across the nation developing active and authentic teaching and learning experiences that address the cognitive rigor of college and career ready standards by challenging and engaging students to demonstrate higher-order thinking and communicate depth of knowledge.
