Every Now and Then

In this book you will find another set of true tales researched and written by Lisa Land Cooper covering Douglas County, Georgia's people, places, and important events from the 1820s through the 1970s. This book includes a bit of Native American history, old Campbell County days, the area's Civil War history, and a few more true tales regarding the Sweetwater Park Hotel and Piedmont Chautauqua in Lithia Springs. Also included is an updated chapter regarding Douglas County's founding history as well as the never published tragic story that resulted in the lynching of Peter Stamps and the poisoning death of Ada V. Abercrombie in Douglasville in 1885. Ninety-two different stories, twenty-seven images, and a detailed index makes this book a much-needed resource for those who live in the area, had family who lived in old Campbell or Douglas counties, and for any lover of history.

Lisa Land Cooper has worn many hats during her professional life, first working as a paralegal and legal researcher, and then embarking on a career as an educator.
