Starting a business is hard work. Running a business is equally difficult. And it has been suggested that a wise man learns from the mistakes of others. That is why I authored the original book, to share my good and bad business decisions and what I learned. Based on feedback from readers, reviewers, authors, and a bit more personal experience, I updated and expanded this practical guide for the ambitious entrepreneur as well as the seasoned manager in Now You Tell Me 2.0.

My goal remains to help entrepreneurs in the same position I found myself, in need of a practical, tangible guide, offering specific ideas, tactics, programs, and processes one can put in place to make starting, growing, and managing a business a bit easier.

I authored this book, not as a novel with a beginning, middle and end. But as a reference guide whereby it sits by your side for ready reference to address any current issue that needs your attention. The guidance provided in this book is not based on textbook theory, but rather real-life, first-hand experience with real people, real circumstances, and real outcomes.
This book is comprehensive. I begin with your hypothetical business idea and walk you through validating, and developing the idea, planning and re-planning the business model, then running the business. I offer guidance about people as human resources will be your most important asset. Next, I counsel the reader what to do when things go wrong. Because they will. And you need to be able to successfully navigate the process from damage control to full recovery.

The last section addresses the transition when it is time for you to go – for whatever reason. And how to successfully make the ownership transition and how to optimize the value of what you have built.
