A direct narration lacking in embellishments reviews the adolescence of this novel’s protagonists: parties, music, impossible loves, and friendship as well as enmity. After a group of youngsters chance across a shipment of cocaine, their lives are changed forever. An homage to the broken connection between existence and reason, between the illusionary past and the present that must be accepted as the only real basis of everyday life, this novel offers a wide view of the world while still involving readers in the intimate lives of five characters whose successes and failures are masterfully woven into a knot.
