Predicador hisp�nico, aut�ntico mensajero de la Espa�a peregrina, exiliado en M�xico, residir� all� hasta su muerte. La guerra, la derrota, el destierro, mitificados desde una actitud de rebeld�a y vindicaci�n, pero tambi�n la condici�n humana, se hacen presentes en sus libros. Le�n Felipe encuentra su tema en aquella conmoci�n que remueve el ser de Espa�a, y este padecimiento encuentra en Le�n Felipe su poeta m�s alto. De ah� brota su verdadera poes�a� Le�n Felipe se ah�nca en s� mismo, recoge las congojas del �xodo y vuelve a encontrar m�s cercana que nunca la Espa�a esencial, de la que jam�s hab�a desertado.
