- Book 2 of 3: Save Five
When innocent animals are in danger, Alison Cavera won’t back down—even if it means putting herself at risk.
In More Than a Number—the riveting second book in The Save Five Series—Alison is still shaken from exposing illegal activities at the county animal shelter. She’s shocked when she’s offered a job there but eager to make a difference for homeless cats and dogs. She never imagined the work would pull her deep into Michigan’s remote forests—where secrets lie hidden among the towering maples, oaks, and pines.
When the county sheriff refuses to investigate her suspicions of a brutal dog-fighting ring, Alison takes matters into her own hands. Following a dangerous trail of clues, she edges closer to the cruel world of illegal fights—a world where silence is enforced and danger lurks at every turn.
Her independence, stubbornness, and courage drive her straight into the heart of the blood sport. Will she be recognized? Can she keep her emotions in check when faced with such injustice?
If you care about animals and love a gripping mystery, you’ll be hooked as Alison fights for those who cannot fight for themselves.
