About this title

Synopsis

This book deals with the aspects of efficient utilization and balanced nutrition to cotton crop which is considered as heavy feeder of nutrients from soil. Since very little absorbed nutrients go back to the soil, therefore until and unless these nutrients are replenished, soil fertility and productivity are likely to be affected adversely. In addition to this constantly rising cost of chemical fertilizers, asks for imperative assessment of the economics of different fertilizers that would ensure the maximum yield to the cultivator both in terms of quantity as well as quality. Besides this there is now quality consciousness everywhere in the trade and industry, and hence, quality can no more be ignored or relegated to the background as of little consequence. Therefore this book has been written keeping these points in mind to help scientists, farmers and students to get a glimpse into nutrient management of cotton.
