About this title

Synopsis

This thoroughly updated text covers the essential facts about nutrients, nutrient needs, foods, and meals. It is a practical guide for nutrition workers, including health workers, agricultural workers, home economists, and school teachers, clearly explaining how to help families with nutrition problems, how to treat malnourished children, and how to work effectively in communities and schools. This revised edition of a popular and widely-used work brings the subject up-to-date, and details advances in the field, including new ideas on working in and with communities, and about nutrition education. It provides several examples of exercises for training nutrition workers. This information is not easily available elsewhere, and no other manual covers the subject so comprehensively. The book is fully illustrated with many new drawings.
