This is four Sendak-illustrated, dust-jacketed mini-books (4 by 2.5 inches) in an illustrated slipcase; a second state or an early reprinting, with a blue bar at the base of the spine of Chicken Soup with Rice: A Book of Months. The other titles are One Was Johnny: A Counting Book, Pierre: A Cautionary Tale, and Alligators All Around: An Alphabet. They are each bound in reddish-pink boards with an oak decoration on the front; the boards show some fading. The dust jackets have some spotting to the spines but only minor edgewear and no tears.
