This work contains two volumes in one. # 1 "Up Old Forge Way" and #2 "West Canada Creek". Volume 1 "Up Old Forge Way." The story of how this wilderness became one of the prime year-around resorts of the East is told in this book, which gives an interesting history of a region which has its full quota of rugged, resourceful characters, its tragedies and lighter moments. Volume 2 "West Canada Creek." This is the biggest and most glamorous of the Mohawk River's tributaries whose 75 mile course from the heart of the Adirondack Wilderness to the brisk industrial village of Herkimer is one of the finest stretches of scenery in the Empire State. Photographs are included. This copy is clean and solid.
