Nunca hab�a planeado dedicarse a la escritura, de hecho, pas� varios a�os haciendo todo tipo de cosas, desde trabajar como secretaria hasta como enfermera en una cl�nica dental. Pero fue varios a�os m�s tarde cuando comenz� a escribir, cuando se apunt� a una clase de escritura creativa. A pesar de que sus primeros cuentos y art�culos no tuvieron �xito, la primera historia infantil que escribi� fue aceptada al instante. Actualmente tiene m�s de cincuenta libros publicados.

Estudi� Ilustraci�n en la Escuela de Arte de la Universidad de Falmouth y tras graduarse trabaj� dos a�os como dise�adora de sellos para ni�os en un estudio en Northampton, mientras trabajaba como freelance en �lbumes infantiles y en tarjetas de agradecimiento. Ha hecho varias exposiciones por todo el Reino Unido con Girls who draw y Inkygoodness.
