OPTIMAL CONTROL

Optimal Control provides a unified perspective on a new generation of optimization problems, arising in advanced engineering design, operations research and mathematical economics that are beyond the reach of traditional analytical and computational techniques. The fields has broad applications in such areas as process control, flight mechaniscs, and robotics and resourse allocation. It is also a powerful stimulus to research in nonlinear analysis and other branches of mathematics. Optimal Control bring together many of the important advances in nonsmooth optimal control of the last two decades concerning necessary conditions, minimizer regularity, and global optimality conditions associated with the Hamilton-Javobi equation. The analysis is largely self-contained and incorporates many of the simplifications and unifying features of optimal control revealed by recent research. 820 gr.
