About this Item
Tudor, Tasha. ORIGINAL PENCIL DRAWING by Tasha Tudor that was used for the endpapers in BRITE AND FAIR written by Henry A. Shute and illustrated by Tasha Tudor. Peterborough, New Hampshire: Noone House, 1968. The image measures 13-3/4" wide x 9 " tall on Bainbridge Board measuring 13-3/4" x 9-5/8". This double page drawing is richly detailed and depicts a bucolic setting with large trees, two boys fishing from a row boat on a winding river, fenced fields and a small town with a church at its center. Tasha Tudor excelled at depicting life in an idealized time and place and this drawing is a well executed, wonderful example of the best of her work. The Bainbridge Board has what appears to be a light crease running from top to bottom approximately 2-1/4" from the right edge of the drawing but it does not detract from the loveliness of the work. Sold with a first edition copy of the book. Seller Inventory # 000114
