- Octavo, 8 inches high by 6 inches wide. Softcover, color pictorial self wraps with a bright color cover illustration by Kathleen Hale portraying Orlando, the marmalade cat, strumming his guitar on the ship's deck accompanied by his wife on the harp and cats and a cow on various instruments. 4 pages with the text, also by Kathleen Hale, printed on the rear cover. The ship's luxurious dinner menu is printed within with acknowledgment to the chef, G. Coffin, and the baker, G. Mansfield. Near fine. RARE.This menu was made for the S.S. "Orcades" and features the menu for the Monday February 16th, 1953 dinner. Listing a similar menu distributed on a different Orient Line cruise ship, the Virginia & Albert Museum comment: "This menu card was made for a voyage on board the Orient Line cruise ship 'Oronsay' in 1953. Illustrated menus such as this were printed in advance on land with the inside (menu part) left blank to be printed on board ship. Passengers often kept them as souvenirs. The menus reflect the luxury of cruise liner travel during its heyday.". Seller Inventory # 98874
